CareerSource North Florida connects employers and job seekers with registered apprenticeship and registered pre-apprenticeship programs in Hamilton, Lafayette, Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor counties. We lead local and statewide efforts to develop, expand, and promote these programs.

What Is a Registered Apprenticeship?

A Registered Apprenticeship Program is a structured, employer-driven education and training model that combines paid on-the-job learning with classroom instruction, culminating in a nationally recognized credential.

These programs are registered and approved by the Florida Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor.

  • High-quality "earn-and-learn" career pathway for individuals
  • Flexible workforce development strategy for businesses
  • Employers gain a custom-trained workforce

Why Choose an Apprenticeship?

  • Employers: Build a highly skilled workforce while reducing turnover and increasing retention (90%+ are still employed after 9 months); Return on Investment ≈ $1.50 for every $1 invested.
  • Job Seekers: Full-time employment with on-the-job training; mentorship from experienced workers; career advancement with no student debt and an occupational credential.
